PatientEase™ PQS (Patient Queuing System)

Master Station Module
The
PatientEase Master Station Module is used as a central control point
within a queue/department/system. This module is the primary
management module for queue level routing, viewing and managing patient
flow through that queue. A PatientEase Queue may be configured to
represent any process you wish to manage or track. These
typically map to a department or functional process such as 'Outpatient
Registration'. Our flexible configurations allows for many different
uses of the PatientEase Master Station Module.
This module controls patient routing within a queue. A common example of this would be routing patients to registrars and/or load
balancing work loads. The Master Station places patient's to an
'In-Process' status signifying that they are no longer waiting to be seen.
Users
can 'Undo' the routing of patients in case of mistakes or changes in
patient status. The module also allows manual overriding of patient
order within a queue allowing high priority patients the ability to jump
ahead. The Master Station Module allows users an overview of all patients
within a given queue including wait time, order, and times for each of the
key queuing events. This allows staff to be proactive in handling
customer service rather than reactive. The public display may
also be optionally controlled by this module.
Another
powerful feature of the Master Station Module is 'Ancillary Check-In' and
the use of 'Modality' queues. For example a registrar may know that
the patient is to be routed to Radiology but doesn't know what Radiology
procedure needs to be performed. This feature allows the Radiology
department to determine which 'Modality' queue to assign the patient to.
Modality queues differ from standard queues in that they are more like
aliases. The purpose of these queues are to allow complete detailed
tracking while sharing the same 'check-in', 'in-process' and 'complete'
lifecycle of only one queue. For example if you are monitoring
patient wait times for Radiology you may want to know if 'XRay', 'MRI' or
other procedures differ.
